PS4 lack of AAA is probably normal for a launch console. I got my Vita close to launch and things simply sucked. Less than a year latter and I already had more interesting titles avaiable that I could buy. PS4 was hurt by delays on Driveclub and Batman too. Anyway, it will probably take until Q3-Q4 2015 to have a good library avaiable, but that's what buying consoles at launch usually do: you get it first, but you will suffer with the early issues. That's probably why launch titles always have high sales and its sequels usually fall hard (Motorstorm, Resistance) when they have to deal with increased competition. |
It's not even indy titles I'm upset with though. It's that they're all so similar and lacking. Strider is the best side scroller I've played so far and Dead Nation is the most fun indy to date. Child of Light is hyped but I played it last night and don't see the appeal. I mean, indys don't have to be 2D, side scrollers, or shallow. But that seems to be what we've been inundated with.
