JEMC said: From the Wolfenstein requirements news:
Bethesda says that these are the requirements "necessary" to run Wolfenstein, suggesting that they are the minimum requirements. The 4GB of RAM and a GeForce 460 or Radeon HD 6850 recommendation reinforces this.
I guess I can't play it, my 5850 is starting to limit me... although I know it basically performs the same as the 6850. But that CPU ... like an i7 4770 is the same as an i7 920, right? |
Well, there really isn't an "AMD Equivalent" to a Haswell/Sandy Bridge-E/Ivy-Bridge-E i7 processor, so one can assume they're talking about a nahelem (I.E. Core i7 920/860) derivative as a baseline.
For AMD that would mean a Phenom 2 x4/x6 or newer and any quad-core Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell or newer/better would be more than enough.
You *could* get away with a heavily overclocked Core 2 Quad or Athlon 2/Phenom 1 though as a Core 2 Quad @ 3.6-4ghz is going to be faster than an i7 860.
As for the GPU, overclock! :P
Things are cooling down in Australia as we are about to enter Winter, so my clocks can go a little bit higher. :D
