Only question I have is, do you still own the game after PS+ lapses?

Everything you use money with PS+ it is yours for life...

Eg. The free PS+ Edition will stop to work if you stop the subscription but if you upgraded to Full version even using the Plus discount it will be yours for life even you unsubscribe from Plus.
