Moving the goalpost. You said mechs, jetpacks and bots were new to competitive FPS. Now, because it actually isn't new to competitive FPS, you can't just say "oh, well, it was in KZ and Halo, but it hasn't been added to a CoD experience so that trumps what I said just a sentence prior". And you're even wrong saying that it's "new and fresh" because it's fast and twitch based. Unreal Tournament 3 was fast and twitchy, had hoverboards (for a more parkour approach to movement), vehicle combat, Darkwalker combat (equivalent to mech combat in that game), playing with bots and the kicker: it doesn't have a "real campaign" either, just a series of multiplayer matches. And that game came out in 2007. Now matter how you slice it, the things that make TF "innovative".....don't. And all three of these games sitting around the same metacritic score would beg to differ in what is a "1st class experience". Look, I'm not saying TF is a bad game. Just pointing out that the things that are being lauded as "new" just aren't new.

Just seems kinda odd that the game seemingly has no basis to stand on for all this hype and KZ3 should by now be heralded as the best thing to happen to FPS. Granted you made a good case that they aren't "new" but they are certainly done in a fresh perspective, and certainly are arguably done better then predessors.
