I'm planning on buying Oreshika, but I'd made that decision long before this stupid statement about the future of JRPG's.

Honestly, it's really beginning to irritate me when a company give up on something completely that was doing well for them (*coughSquareEnix*) and then suddenly decide to give it one last ditch attempt.

JRPG's sell. Japan Studio JRPG's sell. Legend of Dragoon sold well on PS1; Rogue Galaxy sold well on PS2; Oreshika 1 sold well on PSP. Heck, White Knight Chronicles sold well on PS3 despite being fairly poorly received.

And that's not counting that companies like Falcom & Gust pretty much survive on PlayStation consoles by making JRPG's.

Yet now we've got to start fighting for the genre from Sony from the one game they've published it in for about 5 years?

Ugh...
