Indeed when I learned of the $349.99 price a couple weeks back I was shocked.

Really? I'm not. Nintendo do not seem to want to fight for WiiU anymore. XB1 has been out 1 year ess than WiiU, has far better sales, and MS are already fighting far far harder than Nintendo ever have for sales.

I know Nintendo don't want to make a loss but at the end of the day sometimes that's just how it has to work, if you want your product to work/take off.

I'd love to know if they're still making a loss on the system, this price seems to suggest so.

Remember I come from retail. When I see choices that arent going to drive hardware or software they surprise the hell out of me because I look at it from a salesman point of view.

But yeah my first thought was that the console must still either sell at a loss or close to cost. Its clear at this point Nintendo have given up on marketshare and are instead totally focused on driving a profit
