Well I'd consider the games below as the main series:
Sonic 1, 2, 3 and/or Knuckles, Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, 06, Unleashed, Colors, Generations, Lost World.
Sonic & The Secret Rings and Black Night are part of the story book series
Tennis, Racing, Mobile, and the Olympic games speak for themselves. And I just consider 3D Blast a spin off.
