Jim has a point but it's moot. He doesn't want the consumer to change their behavior but the industry to change theirs just like that. Sadly we're not living in a dream world so changing the habits of the average consumer is our only chance for change at all.

I don't hate the average consumer. I don't think they hate themselves. Everyone is talking about how the average consumer is "tricked" or "ripped off" but those are loaded words that only work when you feel like that. The average consumer doesn't feel tricked, that's why he continues to purchase and obviously enjoys "crap" games and "overpriced" DLC. So who are we to decide for them what's best? After all we're not even doing it for their benefit but solely for ours.



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
