That seems to be the case, but I wouldn't say they are inspired by The Elder Scrolls. I believe they are very different, especially the combat which is the main weakness of the Elder Scrolls imo. Anyways, DA franchise has a great potential, hopefully BW will deliver a complete package this time.

Well you take the good, and discard the crap. I meant they were inspired by the expansive openness of Elder Scrolls, not the gameplay. If DA ever moved towards TES gameplay I'd drop the series like a hot coal. I like the idea of being able to ride / walk throughout the world with quick travel as an option, rather than the area transitions of the past DA games, so I hope Bioware have been able to implement that from TES. If as they say one free-roaming area in DA:I is a big as the entireity of Kirkwall and surrounding lands from DA2 then that would be a great halfway house with the only area transitions when you're travelling between distant locations. Semi open world I guess.
