Resogun technically is not an Indy title as it is published by Sony, and same thing with KI which is published by Microsoft.

I think he is trying to say that Resogun is more of an indy game because it is made by a smaller developer, and is sort of like an arcade game (similar to geometry wars).

 

I personally wouldn't classify either as a AAA title as they both likely has much smaller budgets than an AAA title would have.  I would classify Killer Instinct as more of an AA title, and Resogun as an A title (personal opinion).
