How about we let the free market decide, if its predominantly seen as a bad idea, then no one will buy the remakes, Sony makes no money and they stop doing it. Alternatively, if people like it then the sales will be good enough and Sony will keep doing it. End of the day, its more games, it probably accelerates market movement to the new console (instead of finishing huge backlogs on the previous console), and it probably takes 1/5 the resources to port a game to the next gen than make an entirely new game. It even allows developers to trial a new console architecture without risking an entire full game budget on the exercise, particularly when platform size is low. Really, there is next to no negatives other than that next big game might come out 3-4 months later (out of a three year dev cycle), but with a mass of positives. Win win I say.
