You don't know what in the heck you're talking about.....The murder rate is down because it's been winter, TRUST ME the murder rate is going to SKYROCKET this summer. GD's (Gangsta Disciples) and BD's (Black Disciples) are currently at war, almost every month someone from each faction has been murdered.
Just this week Blood Money (Chief Keef's uncle who is a BD) was just murdered in a drive by, so K.I (Lil Jo Jo's cousin who is a GD) was just murdered 2 days later in drive by.
Chicago's murder rate isn't high because there aren't guns for law abiding citizens , it's high because they have a SERIOUS gang problem. You think giving law abiding citizens guns is going to lower the murder rate? lol
These kids are having shoot outs with heavily armed police what makes you think they would be scared of a law abiding citizen with 1 or 2 hand guns? The only thing that is going to fix this problem is giving the kids opportunities to make legal money. Until then they'll continue joining gangs and committing crimes to feed their families.
The poverty rate for blacks in south side chicago is 34.1 compared to whites 10.9. The unemployment rate for blacks is 19.5 compared to whites 8.1. The median income for blacks is $29,371 compared to whites $58,752.
Crime/Gangs/Murder is synonymous with poverty, if somehow the job outlook could be fixed to give these kids legal money to feed their family they wouldn't have to run the streets to get their next dollar while killing.
