I completely agree with your list but i'd switch 2 and 3 around even though i liked SotC better than everquest i don't think sales reflect that feeling.

I think yours reflect the market very well but heres my personal top 3 anyway:

1.ICO - Same reasons as your put for Shadow of the Colussus but this was a necessary step along the way to get there and had the same feeling of scale and beauty that was just amazing.

2.The Legend of Dragoon - Nothing overly new brought along with this game but took top aspect of RPGs and fused them together very well. Intense/enthrolling story telling, amazing character development, clever and fun battle system, well rounded battles/level up system. Just took RPGs up a notch for me personally.

3.Twisted Metal - When i was in elementary school one of my best friends had a little game i like to call Rock n' Roll Racing and until I played Twisted Metal II nothing came close to comparing. Car destruction games are pretty generic I found and the only 2 that have ever stood out to me were Twisted Metal and Rock n' Roll Racing. Twisted Metal somehow figured out how to add an interesting story and character development aspect into a genre that it doesnt really seem to fit in and make it work very well.

Thats what Sony has done that has appealed the most to me personally, but like I said i really think your 3 are spot on if you swap SotC and Everquest spots.
