Remastering recent first party games a smart move of Sony? Or we don't need them?

It makes complete sense from a business perspective. But I'm a consumer, not a shareholder, so I'd much rather have brand new games. If Sony, or Microsoft of Nintendo for that matter, want to release a remake or even an enhanced remaster ten years down the line, I'm all for it. But I'm not interested in buying the same games again, even with prettier graphics, and especially not within 24 months of the original release.

And I know it doesn't take many resources to make these remastered games, but it still seems like a waste of time from my point of view. Backward compatibility would have been a much better investment.
