Wasn't the X1 cheaper in US than the PS4 this month? If you take into account the free game it was. And look at the giant push it got from that.

Even if it was (and I don't think it was) it doesn't matter. It's the entry price that counts.

Its the value a consumer perceives that counts.

Even at 350 fo a X1, the PS4 is a more attractive buy.

Don't think so. At this stage the entry price counts more than the value. You can put how much you want in a bundle, if a person earns that much there is only so much he or she can spend on videogames. $500 is way too high now. People will start considering more the value when we enter the 199-300 price range.

Thus the value becomes even more important, if you can only get one you will do the research and choose the best bang for your $  And that is the PS4.  The more stingy people are with the $ the better a buy PS4 looks.

Your 50 $ price advantage at 350 dissapears if the person wants MS offical battery pack and headset adapter.  then there is 60 for Gold yet all it does is unlock online play, Sony gives you free games with Plus and it has a bunch of FTP games on PS4 that are not on X1

They are very similar, they play mostly the same games, PS4 hasn't that much more value from my point of view. But it has a lower entry price. If X1 was cheaper MS would easily dominate those regions where the xbox brand is already strong. And you can see that the brand is strong from X360 sales. It's a situation very similar to the early PS3 days. The PS3 back then had more value than the 360. You could use it as BD player (and they were expensive). It just costed too much. The X1 is actually doing much better than the PS3 of those times.
