Drifting is epic! but the reason I loved the original DC one (there was a PS1 game first but it was awful so I don't count it :D) was the setting, and cruising around the highway looking for rivals you haven't already hammered. Was also a very nice upgrade system for your car so rivals you couldn't touch earlier on suddenly you finally had a fighting shot at.
And did I mention those 60fps graphics? XD Seriously at the time, I was so blown away by the game. I wish PS4 had this impact.

The original was like Wangan Midnight, which is also good, racing in the highways at high speeds so I agree that the atmosphere of the games were great. Genki should make a remake of this series on the PS4 at 1080p and 60fps, to keep the game´s impact. And a Vita version also please :D The PSP had Street Supremacy, which is the same game but with a different name (published by Konami instead of Crave), but this one didn´t quite catch the feeling of the originals.
