It's not big news in and of itself, but it could be the precursor to a bigger move. Not unlike when MS was about to buy 51% of Rare, Nintendo sold their 49% since, well, they had to. S-E has had some financial challenges, but still holds some very valuable brands. It could very well be that either MS or Nintendo are in the process of buying a controlling stake in the company.

ok kool understandable but i dont c this benefitting ms cause i dont c anybody switching consoles to buy any SE games there r ok but not worth that ! and in nintendo's case this may be just may be give the wii u a good push

SE games have very dedicated fans and Sony exclusivity of the titles was a major factor in Playstation sucess in the PS1/PS2 days. MS securing FF for the North American market on 360 was a huge move in loosening the Playstion grasp. SE is also a market leader in Japan, and where their titles go, other third parties will follow.
That said, the brand is at a major low right now. Final Fantasy is seen to be in decline, and their game production is slow and expensive. I don't know that even FF would help MS in Japan. I can see great value in Nintendo taking a controlling share. FF, DQ, Mario and Pokemon would give Nintendo dominance in Japan and most likely lead to full 3rd party support from other Japanese publishers like Capcom and Konami, which would have a global impact in Wii U sales and sales for future systems. Tomb Raider would also give them a solid western IP. They would really have to streamline SE's production though. Way too inefficient. Not saying it will happen, but it could make sense.

yep as i said only might benefit nin! well lets c wat happens but honestly only their western ips (and star ocean which i waited till they ported to ps3 )out of all there games last gen that was localized was good imo
