It's a good system, but it suffers from bad marketing and higher total costs than 3DS. Also, Ninty being forced to a huge early price cut to save 3dS after a very bad start, at the same time succeeded saving it, but it put PSV in a difficult situation since before its launch itself. Sony couldn't afford to delay reaching PSV profitability, so it had to accept it remaining niche, and it wil have to keep on accepting it until PS4 definitive take-off, so until then PSV marketing will take a back seat except for what regards synergies with PS4.
For my tastes it's the best portable I ever tried, the only one I actually like and feel comfortable with, HW wise, I think I could buy it when it will be considerably cheaper than now (by then it will have a larger game library too, but even now I can find games for it that I like, Gravity Rush for example).
