What can Nintendo do to win the console race against competitors?

They aren't going to. I don't think they will lose either though. With a solid launch lineup of some of the best series ever, I think they will at least claw their way to a solid second. Even if they shoot ahead of Sony, they'll push the PS4 for like 12 years like they do with every one of their consoles and will have strong 3rd party support even after they move to the next PlayStation.
