I don't think it's bad...actually it's probably good. The DS version was supposed to be good but the Vita version changed the battle system (many people who didn't play the DS version probably wouldn't realize though), added random encounters, and I heard some things were cut around its release.

I think it's supposed to be not as good as the DS version, but not bad.

ugh that is a bit of turn off for me outside of pokemon i really hate random encounters in RPG
