The sales increased nontheless. It guarantees more sales because The Show now has no competitors. If MLB fans want to buy an MLB game, their only choice is The Show. Common sense.

Europe won't buy The Show for obvious reasons. However, that reason actually weakens your argument even further. Virtually 100% of the sales will be in the US. That 300k sales (and I say it'll sell much more than that) is actually significant because they're all in one country rather than being spread out across mulitple countries. As a result, it'll help the PS4 quite a bit in the US because the X1 will not have any new games coming out in the beginning of May.
