What a strange, strange thread.
While there are undoubtedly factors that would lead Japanese people to trade in their PS4's - the same goes for every console. Go and visit a CEX in the UK. You'll find a window full of any console you could possibly want from people trading them in.
Like Auron says, people trade in games literally a day or two after they've just released too.
It happens. There were loads of used 3DS' after launch, too:
