Where do you think it will go then? Somehow i don't think the Wii would be a viable option considering how badly 3rd party games are doing on it! And if it went to the 360 they can kiss the Japanese market goodbye, the likely options are either the PSP, DS or PS3...

Yeah, but the wii has the japanese market , and the japanese love ff. I see it going to the ds, or psp.

I see more spin-offs going to the ds or psp, but not a direct remake. Why do a direct remake if it's not an upgrade? The ps3 or 360 would be the best bets for a "direct" remake IF THEY EVER DO ONE...which I'm not convinced of.

The Wii, PSP, & DS are better suited for spin-offs of FFVII (Like Crisis Core).

Just my opinion---lol, you all can have yours, so don't bother flaming, I'll just chuckle @ you.

Well the ds and the psp are significantly more powerful than the ps1. Also there have been many direct remakes for the ds , and many more announced. It wouldn't really be worth it if you were a gamer , but it would sell hell of alot more than if it was remade for the ps3 and make se more money.

Actually, it would make the most money on the DS or PSP (more than likely more on the DS).

If it were released on the Wii, PS3, or even 360 they would have to put A LOT of money into the game look as good as absolutely possible for whatever console it was put on. That would mean a very large budget for all the effort and all the time. The game would sell just about the same on the PS3 or Wii (not so much on the 360) for about the same budget (yes, Wii games can be big budget) so it doesn't matter that much which one.

If they made the remake for the DS or PSP the game would still require time and effort but not nearly as much as making it for one of the above systems. That would mean a smaller budget. The two handhelds also have the advantage of having a MUCH larger userbase of actual people that would buy the game (both Wii and PS3 have a good amount of people that wouldn't buy the game since the Wii is too casual and the PS3 is a BluRay player).

So ask yourself would you rather have a large budget and sell less copies or a small budget and sell more copies? Remember, the primary goal of any game is to make money.

-edit-

Also, when this game does come out, we will be talking about the DS2 and the PSP2.
