I agree with the second one but the first is not feasible. So far all a camera does for VR is head tracking and the PS camera can do that just fine, without lag. If you want to track more complex stuff than glowing lights it will always cause more delay. And we all know that delay is the arch nemesis of VR.

Don't expect peripheral-free VR anytime soon.
