I don't know what to tell you man. I mean my dad is a black conservative so I know all the conservative arguments. He said the same thing to me once, and if a politican can't figure out why a poor black man (sticking with the welfare example) doesn't like being told he is too entitled and that he wants too much free stuff, while simultaneously defending rich businessmen and claiming that they don't have it good enough -- then there's no hope of ever getting the black vote.

It has everything to do with the fact that black people tend to have liberal values and like liberal policies and conservatives just can't offer them anything because they're too busy protecting big business. It's just a fundemental difference in ideology going on.

I mean... not really.  Economically, sure.  Socially though Black people as a voter base are extermely conservative.  The only issues where it isn't a case is where economics and social clash, like Abortion.  Or things like the Death Penalty... which end up hitting black people more.

by the numbers, theoretically, Republicans could win the majority of black voters by just changing a few policies. (And hispanic).

In practice, even with the changed policies,  I wonder if that would be enough.
