I was literally coming in here to say "I can't understand why the publishers of all these 90's/00's IP's think that their userbase has somehow moved from PC's to mobile".
They're really betting on the wrong horse... it's console & handheld gamers that took the plunge really; PC gaming has only really grown since then, and I'd imagine if you were gaming on a PC then you'd be gaming on a PC now.
They might as well try their hand at new IP's for the mobile market rather than slaughtering what they already have.
It wouldn't be as bad if they took a Japanese approach either. I mean yes, I know, Square Enix is the devil, but they actually mix it up with their mobile games. So yes, Final Fantasy All the Bravest is a turd, but at least they're still making home console Final Fantasies in the process. Same with Dragon Quest.
For stuff like Rollercoaster Tycoon; Dungeon Keeper; Crazy Taxi; Age of Empires, the IP's have literally been stagnant for years and yet they're being revived purely for mobile. Uff.
