It will be very hard - unlike Japanese 3rd party publishers - western developers aren't jumping on handhelds - therefore, Sony will need to provide the games that appeals to the west. Sadly, the Vita will take a second seat to the now hot PS4 when it comes to software development priorities.
Unlike Nintendo, who can stand relatively strong with their incredible 1st party line-up - Sony heavily relies on 3rd party support - and unfortunately, I don't see western 3rd parties bothering to develop for the vita at it's current state.
Furthermore, Sony financial state leaves less room for maneuverability i.e price cut, marketing budget, bundling the ps4+vita
