Naughty Dog tease “unique event” to be ‘foreshadowed’ at PAX East via The Last of Us graphic novel
Developer Naughty Dog has teased that a “unique event” will be foreshadowed via a logo on the back cover of a limited edition The Last of Us graphic novel at the upcoming PAX East event. The Last of Us developer revealed the tease via a post on its official website detailing the PAX-exclusive goodies available to attendees. Pax East is running from April 11th – 13th at Boston, MA.
A host of Sony studios, including Killzone’s Guerrilla Games, LittleBigPlanet’s Media Molecule, God of War developer Sony Santa Monica, and Naughty Dog are joining forces to construct a community focused booth at this year’s PAX East. The booth will feature daily activities for attendees spearheaded by each studio’s community team leads, as well as rare, “highly collectible” PlayStation memorabilia unique to PAX East.

Among the rare products are some The Last of Us goodies from Naughty Dog, such as an ‘Ellie Pinny’ and limited edition t-shirts never before available outside of the studio. There will also be 200 copies of a short run of 1,000 copies of The Last of Us: America Dreams Limited Edition Graphic Novel.
According to Naughty Dog, the back cover of the graphic novel will feature a “special logo foreshadowing a unique event regarding the studio”.
Naughty Dog goes on to say, “Related to that be sure to visit the Naughty Dog team page on Operation Supply Drop’s 8-bit Salute,” hinting the event will be in some way related to their charity drive. Exactly what that logo is, and how a logo would be linked to Operation Supply Drop (if that is the case), is anybody’s guess.
8-Bit Salute runs annually from March 7th – May 17th and sees gamers complete 24-hour gaming marathons to raise money for supporting troops. The charity raised over $300,000 last year and aims to “crush that” this year by raising $1m. Having just revealed The Last of Remastered for PS4, is it possible ND will use their 8-Bit Salute play time to showcase some new footage?

The other Sony studios are bringing some cool goodies to PAX East too, such as Killzone and God of War branded t-shirts and shot glasses (although they actually call the glasses ‘toothpick holders’), and a rather kick-ass collectible Delsin model, of which only 300 will ever be made.
