In all fairness, I liked Assassin's Creed 4 far and away much more than anything else released in 2013. Was my GOTY, and it is the best game available on PS4. I have been playing my PS4 and PS3 probably equally since release day. XB1 does not get as much play time but Titanfall is absolutely amazing. I was not overly impressed with Forza and Ryse was outrageously bad. KI and Dead Rising are a lot of fun too. Going through backlog plus Dark Souls, Stick of Truth, Yaiba etc. etc. But in terms of weird? I am not sure there is anything overly weird about this release. They are always slow for first 6-8 months. Most every game that has come out for the new consoles are decent releases. Also, unlike many other new console releases there are no ultra noticeable technological jumps occuring at this time. Such as 8 to 16 bit, SD to HD, Blu-ray vs HDDVD, console online gaming....nothing like that. We are reaching a point where technology is starting to plateau a bit in terms of scalability and innovation. Were you an adult during previous console releases? They do not get released to the public with dozens of great games right out of the gate or even in the first couple months. It has never happened. The Borderlands on last gen only is a HUGE disappointment...I was incredibly surprised to hear that. Here's to hoping Wolfenstein ends up being as good as the trailers are.
