If they went ahead and made the same types of games as Crash and Jak then people would have used the "generic" card and they wouldn't have been respected nearly as much. The shift in direction on PS3 was most certainly the right call.
I don' think Uncharted is that great to be honest. Finished 1&2 on crushing but didn't bother finishing 3. The platforming feels pointless and the shooting sections aren't so great to me. But they are very good games, just lacking a little bit in gameplay variety.
From what I've seen of TLoU however, I've been very impressed. I'm one of those lucky few who will be experiencing it for the first time on PS4 =D
I thought GoW III trumped any of the Uncharteds in terms visuals and gameplay.
