Someone should make a thread for best wrestler. The results would be very very different. Hogan sucked aside from promos and Hulking out but this thread isn't about being the best. It's about popularity as a wrestler.

I think that's unfair, his Japanese matches were actually full of technical moves.

Hulk Hogan COULD wrestle.  They just never had him do so in the US because he was so over with power moves.  Hell in some japanese matches he even uses an enzugiri which is saying something considering his size.

Also, even though one of Hogan's main stays was no selling moves....

up until he "hulked" out.  I can't think of a wrestler who better sold moves outside maybe Dolph Ziggler.

Hogan could tell a story and make lame monster heels seem like actual threats.

Put Great Khali up against Hogan, and Hogan would of made him look like a real threat... even though you knew he was going to win.

Hogan was a lot like the Undertaker or Big Show.  Locked into his moveset more by gimmic then ability.

I remember being a kid and my friend Daniel loved NWA and I loved WWE.  I kept telling him how awesome Hulk Hogan was.  One Saturday, the Hulkster made a rare appearance on WWF Superstars where he was supposed to fight Cowboy Bob Orton.  I didn't even know who Bob Orton was.  This was the time when the stars were facing nobodys (ie: The One Man Gang vs. John Smith) in nothing but squas matches.  My friend was over and I wanted him to see how awesome Hogan was because NOBODY beats the Hulkster.  About two seconds into the match, Bob was beating Hogan's ass all over the ring.  I was horrified!!

Anyway, Hogan "Hulked out" and won the match.  Your post just reminded me of that incident.
