The only thing I know about laptop parts is that even if they use the same "name" as the desktop parts, they are usually one gen older.
That and that they come with 2.5" HDD (instead of the 3.5" HDD found on desktops) and that the RAM modules are smaller and called SO-DIMM.
... And that's about all I know .
