The first bump was staged, but Foley actually dislocated the shoulder. The second one wasn't, the cell shouldn't break like that and he actually suffered a concussion and was rendered unconcious for a few minutes. And we still had the thumbtacks in the end. Foley was brutal, he actually said he can't remember the entire fight and had to watch it on video to write in his book.
One more thing, Taker was fighting with a broken foot that night too.
