Maybe just maybe if we consider a weaker GPU and consider the size of ESRAM it is balanced, and DDR3 is fast enough for this configuration.
As PS4 is balanced in its design, X1 is as well. The only problem is that some people try to close the bridge with wishfull thinking, making us try to compare PS4 GPU to X1 GPU, PS4 RAM to X1 RAM, ESRAM advantage over GDDR5... when we should just be comparing something like PS4=1,3X1 and stop discussing it.
