That wasn't the point - the point is had Nintendo been up to date with hardware you would have had this game in 07~08 instead of 14.

Up to date?  Isn't the WiiU's GPU supposed to be around the performance of a Radeon HD 4600?  Those hadn't even released in 2006, so its unlikely that you could've had MK8 as it exists today with hardware released in 2006.  And even if you could, as Viper1 pointed out, it would have been prohibitively expensive for a console.
