That Sony Trinitron has a yellow composite plug in the front of it. I'm not sure where you are based but if in uk/europe you should use a scart RGB cable with your ps2.

I ordered a scart cable, thanks for the advice man.

Make sure you plug it into a RGB enabled scart socket. Sometimes there are more than one and only one accepts RGB.

Don't forget to set the ps2 to RGB output.

Tell us what you think about the difference in quality.

The PS2 more than any console is configured for use with CRT sets. The reason being is it often created 60 unique fields per second. Where as most consoles for interlace output would send 30 frames with each frame split into 2 fields to a interlace tv the ps2 would actually generate 60 frames but only send alternating fields from each frame to the interlace CRT. This gave smoother motion on CRT and better response but it meant for modern flat screen tv's the de-interlacer circuit would have to generate incorrect frames which often looked worse than other consoles. Also as previously stated a 50hz CRT set has absolutely zero lag. It can't hold/pause the image at all. So where as  a modern LCD can create upto something like 120ms of lag (40ms typical) your CRT (unless 100hz) will be 0ms lag. It just makes games feel better. It's how the ps2 and most other older consoles should be played.
