so much damage control here. You don't even need to read through the thread, just look at the signatures and you know what the user posted. Sad, but true.

Cloud computing is here to stay and it will become standard in almost every piece of technology in the next years and gaming won't make an exception. There is a reason why MS, Google, Amazon or IBM invest billions of USD to get their cloud-powered devices or cloud infrastructure ready.

Cloud computing has existed as long as computer networks have, games have been using it since the early 90s. Of course it's here to stay. Doesn't make this demo any less scetchy.

you just proved my point. Every word of it.

Feel free to name me some PS2 / PS1 / SNES / N64 games that have been using cloud computing then. This will be fun.

I will go back further than that Island of Kesmai in 1985 was the first comercial game that I know of to use a Host server to game client relationship, where you could pay $6 to $12 (depending on speed) per hour to dial into CompuServe servers that could host a persistant world that could be played by up to 100 people per instance. That is what cloud computing is by the way a client using a cluster of computers that is refered to as a server to perform proccessing or storage, it is the foundation of the internet.

so, everything online is cloud computing to you?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
