Nintendo should put out a new console next year that's more powerful than and costs less than the PS4. Instead of using the gamepad, let it have remote play compatibility through an app with the 3DS. Sure they'd upset six million customers that bought a Wii U, but they'd be the most powerful console on the market for a cheap price. That'd give them the third party support, and the amount of hardcore that would go over to them being the most powerful console would more than make up for any fans who abandoned Nintendo by such an act.

They either need to do this or else lose billions of dollars they could have made. That'll set them two years back, but the thing is, Nintendo can use this to their advantage, next gen launch after the competition and make the most affordable and powerful console. Let Sony and Microsoft fight it out, and then guarantee a sale as atleast a secondary console(or primary) because of the high quality first party exclusives from Sony fans who dislike Microsoft and Microsoft fans who dislike Sony.
