Widely available means that it's available practically everywhere. The stock problems are still there, just that anyone who's really looking for a console now and can't wait can easily acquire one. I'd say give it a month and finding a PS4 regardless of location will be pretty easy.

Widely available does NOT have to mean it's availabe at EVERY single store. It means if someone lives in a city and WANTS a PS4 they can go buy one.  

Right now anyone can order one from Amazon or Best Buy..  And in MY area (second largest city in NY) most ALL of the Best Buys have them ready to pickup today.  EVERY SINGLE GameStop has them in stock also.  Several of the Walmarts also have them.   So right now.. Anyone in MY city has several options to pick up one right this moment.   I would say.. that is widely available.   Now Every city is different. But my guess is that most of the top 50 cities in the USA have similar stock.
