Another important point: being "kick ass" doesn't automatically make you politically correct. If you're kicking ass while looking like this:

Then I don't think we've actually gotten over the "women are sexual objects" hurdle. At all. I've said this before, and I'll say it again -- the most important female character in any video game in history up to this point is Alyx Vance.
