That is like saying Xbox is useless because Playstation existed and that Android and Windows Phones are useless because the iPhone existed.

Apples and oranges. Xbox offers different games than Playstation, and Android and Windows Phones have different OS. I'm not sure what sets this apart from everything else. 

Amazon has been signing gaming devs so they will have first party software.  DOuble Helix was just bought by them recently.

Currently im not interested but if they have a more game focused mentality than the others then it may be worth picking up over the others
