Fez has many good and innovative ideas but it is not a good game by todays standards. It is one of the better indie games but that doesn't make it better than mediocre.
The game could need much more fine tuning and bug fixing (sometimes you cannot climb until restarting the game), and the difficulty is way too high, without a guide it is nearly impossible to complete the game unless you are a hardcore geek .
