Console games are not more profitable. PC games don't have to pay fees, are easier to program than on consoles, and developers get a bit more money from each copy sold.
Besides, we're talking about an RTS, and an RTS console version has never outsold the PC version. The best console effort was C&C3, and even then on PC it sold like 3 times more.
Piracy is irrelevant to Blizzard. Battle.net is completely secure against pirates, and the best pirates can do is just play singleplayer, which is like only 1 tenth of the full experience.
