Did you defeat the dragon at the end of dragoin shrine? I did some co-op there and every time I got summoned they went for the dragon where the world master died before it was down to 90%. Crazy aoe fire attacks, a few times I was dead immediately upon entering the mist, not even a chance to press a button.
