That being said your OP is completely false. You can build a PC that can pkay every game with good settings for $1000. Factor in the insane Steam sales and its MUCH cheaper than cobsole gaming.

That being said the hunt for power is addicting and its easy to become obsessed with buying super enthusiast end components for the best image quality.

$1000 is pretty expensive for some people, especially for a computer that isn't needed.   Much of that money could to food, gas, etc.  So the OP is true.  

You're just fortunate to have enough money to have the perception that it is false.  

Thats true. Ive spent $2500 on mine so far this year so to me $1000 is budget pricing. I may be looking at it wrong I can admit that. Still though as long as you dont go enthusiast PC gaming in the long run is cheaper.
