It is kinda obvious. I have an Ipad 4 which just goes back to the home screen with no notification once in every few hours. It is on IOS 6 because IOS 7 was much buggier from what I have seen from friends (this article supports that). Though I rarely use a tablet so I don't feel the need to change it. In the mean time, my Nexus 5 never crashed on me since I bought it. I was a Galaxy S owner before and the progress speed of Android is really mindblowing.

Yeah, iOS 7 was not as polished as it should have been. Update to 7.1 if you haven't already and you should see a lot less crashing and a less glitchy, faster interface.

OP neglects to mention that Crittercism is funded by... Google Ventures.

I thought IOS 7.1 is not out for Ipad, and 7.04 is the latest? I didn't update to 7.04 because my friends' tablets really crash a lot on that version.  I don't really follow the updates though lol. If it is indeed out I'll update it today then.

I can say that if Google was behind the research though they wouldn't mention Samsung as the best of the bunch.

7.0.x releases tend to target very particular bugs or security vulnerabilities. Substantial updates like 7.1 almost always hit iPhone and iPad at the same time.

And you should really update. There's a serious security flaw in early versions of iOS 7 that breaks SSL.

As for the Google Ventures thing, a conflict of interest doesn't necessarily mean somebody is acting in bad faith, but it helps if you're open about such conflicts so people can take a grain of salt and use their own judgement. Neglecting to mention it looks like you have something to hide.
