If there is something I can make out of this thread is that Final Fantasy XIII still sucks. I do have to admit that objectively the game can't be that bad because sales where quite decent.

Yes, sales are the best way to determine if a game is "objectively good". After all, if thousands upon thousands of people liked the game then it's pretty likely that the game is doing something right.

Only if you ignore the immense impact of marketing. I'm sure there are plenty of people that purchased the game and regretted it... I know c'os I'm one of them

It's like the quality of a politician being based on how much of the vote he recieved, while ignoring factors like how much the campaign cost him, or whether or not he ran a clean and fair campaign.

It's not fair but it's one way of seeing things.

We can assume that FF XIII is of less quality than other Final Fantasy titles though! As it recieved multiple sequels that did pretty bad commercially, compared to other Final Fantasy titles. Therefore we can conclude that the whole FF XIII saga was indeed a very bad idea and they should have ended it after the first game.

I also regretted spending money on the game and lots of people did too. This problem is reflected in their sequels sales.
