This is most clearly a feud between team members. He clearly left cause he was siding with Amy (probably came from Crystal dynamics aswell) and probably couldnt see himself working with the other people that "pushed" her into leaving.
I really think this is a case of too much award winning with "The last of us" bloating some egos and having those guys push around their weight. Sony and the gamers lose though, cause Amy is an amazing developer.

My thoughts exactly .... Dont know the topic, but its a good guess that it was the amy thing, but something internal is definitely going on.
