Bosses are designed to be beaten without getting hit even once, because you can earn medals for that achievement.

I pointed this out in the review.  They should have given you the Death Ring earlier in the game since the bosses are nothing more than trial and error.

Here's the shadow boss, Blackmore, for example.  If he is forward and breaths upward, you'll have to stand closest to him.  Anywhere else you'll get hit.  If he leans far back and breaths upward, you can be against the wall or forward to him.  His melee attacks in his first set are fairly easy to dodge, when he pulls his left hand just jump, stay back for the others.  If he does his double hand attack, you'll wait to wait to see if he stays down because he'll shoot a beam which can only be avoided by waiting a second then double jumping.

Then when he powers up in his second form.  When he does the straight attack, if you don't immediately duck after, then jump immediately after that, you get hit.  The attakcs come too quick to do on your first time.  That's trial and error bs right there.   He'll also lean back and breath and then immediately do a straight attack.  Usually if you go next to him when he breaths your safe, but not  when he does the straight attack.  You've got to dodge two attacks at the same time.  So only a single location that you can be at is a double jump next to the door.  More trial and error bs.

He's weak against light, so use light magic to do t he most damage.  I didn't just bash the game because of the trial and error bs.  I also bashed it because the constant switching of weapons to deal decent damage against enemies because different enemies are strong against various weapons so you're constantly switching throughout the game.  Didn't have the more powerful light spell?  The battle is harder because you're going to be attacking him for a much longer period of time.

I didn't review the game poorly because I got owned.  I got owned in Castlevania Chronicles, reduced the score a lot because of its extremely high difficulty, and I still gave it a better score than this game.  I reviewed the game poorly because I dislike trial and error.  I dislike the whole enemies are strong against most glyphs than these.  I dislike how the glyph system turns it into an X/Y repeatedly button masher instead of using backdash for cancel attacks and such.  I dislike how it is an exploration Castlevania game but the exploration is severely limited.
