It may be a joke. It's likely totally made up. But there's a rumor circulating about Titanfall coming to the WiiU.

As ridiculous as I know this rumor is, I couldn't help but think that this would be the most desperate, brilliant thing Nintendo could possibly do. It's not happening, but I couldn't help but think of a conspiracy theory helps that insane idea make some sense.
Here's my conspiracy theory:
-Nintendo was desperate to come up with a noteworthy late Q1/early Q2 release.
-Nintendo wanted to woo EA back to the Wii U. The Nintendo executive pay cuts went directly towards funding the effort to bring Titanfall to Wii U as a sign of commitment of helping EA be successful on the Wii U platform in the future. They consider it also a strong gesture to gamers that Nintendo really does want 3rd party games on their platform.
-Nintendo believed a Titanfall Wii U release would show that the Wii U could support online gaming and the advantages of having a co-op FPS with the Gamepad.
-Nintendo thought they could compete with the X1 release because they'd offer the same game on a cheaper platform. When news of this leaked to MS, MS made a X1 bundle a total certainty and implemented a price cut earlier than anticipated.
-Nintendo figured by piggybacking on MS's marketing efforts for the game, the game could be a 3rd party success in WiiU terms (e.g. more than 250k copies) and be a small system-seller prior to the release of Mario Kart 8, thereby helping sales for other titles in 2014 and beyond.
-The delay for 360 version to April 8th was made to accomodate the Wii U version being finalized. The WiiU version is being built from assets from the 360 version. Only when Bluepoint said a WiiU port would be feasible within a few weeks time did EA and Nintendo finalize the deal.
-Nintendo figured they could generate substantially more interest by way of surprise announcement in the next Nintendo direct, explaining why nothing has been announced
-EA took Nintendo's money so they could possibly charge Sony even more down the road. EA knows that Sony has a lot more to gain from a Titanfall release than Nintendo does (because few would buy Titanfall on Wii U anyway). By accepting the Nintendo deal, EA can say to Sony "You have to pay us at least as much as Nintendo did"
EDIT -- Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up. It's an April Fools joke.
However, after writing this, I felt bad because if Nintendo wanted to trade in the chips to get a Titanfall release they really could have. I would have liked the co-op and motion control experience with the Gamepad.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
